QDevil Quantum Research

Globetek represents QDevil who are in the Quantum Electronics business – they focus on developing and manufacturing auxiliary electronics and specialized components, operating from milli-Kelvin to room temperature.

Qcage

QCage is a sample holder system for microwave resonator-based quantum devices such as superconducting quantum processors.

  • Sample chip fully suspended in cavity to minimize losses and decoherence
  • Low loss PCB with 24 embedded coplanar transmission lines
  • Cavity and PCB optimized to ensure resonance free transmission up to 18 GHz
  • EMC tight superconducting shielding enclosure
  • Flux biasing magnet mounted inside the shielding with filtered feed-throughs

QDAC II

QDAC-II is a high-precision ultra-low-noise computer controlled DAC with 24 voltage generators, operating at a sample rate of 1MS/s – a thousand times faster than its predecessor. It is designed for DC and intermediate-frequency control of quantum devices, including, for example, gate electrodes and flux bias coils in qubits, but is a very versatile instrument that can be used for many other purposes.

Qdevil Voltage Generator
  • Ultra-low noise and ultra stable multi-channel voltage source
  • 24 individual DAC channels
  • Unique low pass output filter design, with 3 ranges that can be switched between with minimal transients. The high bandwidth mode has a cut-off of 300 kilohertz, the medium bandwidth mode has a cut-off of 10 kilohertz, and the DC mode has a cut-off of 10 Hz
  • 25 bit resolution in DC mode (10 Hz cut-off), 20 bit in medium bandwidth mode (10 kHz cut-off) and in high bandwidth (fast) mode (300 kHz cut-off) and one million samples per second
  • Each channel has multiple standard waveform generators and an arbitrary waveform generator
  • Individual high resolution low-frequency current sensors on every channel, measuring current simultaneously on all channels
  • Advanced triggering and synchronization functions between channels with sub-microsecond precision
  • Controlled via galvanically isolated gigabit ethernet or opto-coupled USB
  • Galvanically isolated trigger inputs and outputs, to avoid ground loops
  • Multiple QDAC-II units can be synchronized
  • External galvanically low-noise linear power supply, to be placed at some distance from the instrument, to minimize 50/60 Hz noise

QBox

The QBox is a fully shielded breakout box specialized for electronics labs and low-temperature experiments. The QBox extends the Faraday cage of the cryostat going from a 24 pin Fischer connector to a convenient 24 channel BNC connector panel. All wiring inside the QBox is done in twisted pairs for best noise immunity.

Qbox
  • The QBox helps protecting the sample, as each channel can be grounded or connected to a common bus
  • The common bus is accessed via a BNC connector to which for example a fixed resistor can be connected
  • Inside the QBox, wires are twisted in pairs as 1-2, 3-4, …, 23-24
  • The QBox is available in two versions, one with numbering 1..24 and one with numbering 25..48
  • The QBox fits in a standard 19” rack (occupying a height of 4U)

QFilter

The QFilter is a compact multi-stage low-pass filter which rejects noise and to ensure millikelvin electron temperature in up to 48 signal lines going to your quantum electronics devices and other sensitive cryogenic and low-temperature electronic circuits. It is the result of several years of development at Harvard University and the University of Copenhagen on achieving the lowest possible noise and electron temperature in quantum circuits. The standard QFilter contains two low-pass filter banks, one with RC circuits and one with LC circuits, but other combinations can also be supplied.

QBoard

QBoard is a modular, PCB-based cryogenic sample holder system for low-temperature electronic devices, such as spin-qubit chips and superconducting circuits. It has 48 DC/low-frequency channels and 16 high-frequency channels (GHz) and offers excellent thermalization down to millikelvin.

  • Motherboard with two 51-pin nano-D connectors wired in parallel, facilitating sample check-in bottom-loader cryostats or grounding during connection
  • Made of non-magnetic materials
  • Daughterboards for sample mounting via wire bonding. Daughterboards are inexpensive – no more need to unbound good samples!
  • Daughterboards are prepared for mounting of resonator circuits for reflectometry
  • 48 RC-filtered low-frequency lines
