Product Specifications & Capabilities
What temperatures can the instrument reach and how much time will it need to reach -45°C from ambient temperature?
The equipment has a temperature range of -100°C to +250°C and takes 10 to 15 seconds to switch between negative and positive temperatures.
What is the power dissipation of the DUT that can be handled by temperature-forcing systems?

What kind of enclosures do you offer for temperature-forcing systems?
We offer Thermal Caps (4.5″ or 5.5″ ID) and FlexExtender Hoses, designed to connect ThermoStream units to external thermal chambers in the form of Hood Style, Clamshell style, and front load style enclosures. These accessories help reduce heat loss and simplify integration with test setups. Rectangular hood and clamp-style chambers can accommodate large boards.
Operational Requirements
How do you prevent moisture from damaging the setup while using temperature-forcing systems?
ThermoStream units feature a dry air purge system (typically 0.5 to 3 scfm / 0.25 to 1.5 l/s) and deliver a frost-free test environment, preventing condensation at the DUT interface. The setup is also covered by a Tcap with an exhaust, and a hose can be attached to direct the air away from the board to prevent condensation.
Do you need external compressed air for the temperature-forcing unit to work?
Yes—most models require clean, dry compressed air with these specifications:
● Particle filtration: 5 µm
● Oil content: <0.1 ppm (to 0.01 µm after filtration)
● Dewpoint: <10 °C at 6.2 BAR (90 PSI)
● Air supply pressure: 6.2–7.6 BAR (90–110 PSIG)
● Flow rate: 15–30 scfm (7.1–14.2 l/s), nominal ~25 scfm (11.8 l/s)
What are the facility requirements for the thermostream?
The thermostream operates on single-phase power and requires an external air compressor and an Air Dryer.
Additional Components and control
Do you offer a temperature-forcing unit which produces low noise?
Yes—Temptronic’s ECO Series ThermoStream systems (e.g., ECO-560, ECO-710E) incorporate WhisperStream® quiet technology, running at about 56 dBA. These designs are energy-efficient and eco-friendly, meeting EU F-Gas standards without requiring annual leak testing.
What kind of remote interface options are available for your temperature-forcing units?
All ThermoStream systems support both local touchscreen control and remote interfacing, including Ethernet, IEEE-488, RS-232, and USB Serial. Many models also support program storage and data logging. The remote interface options allow for control via ATE or computers, and the manual includes the necessary commands.
Do you offer DUT temperature control using external thermocouples for temperature-forcing units?
Yes—most units support DUT temperature monitoring and control via internal diode sensors, thermocouples (Type T & K), and RTDs (100 Ω platinum), using proprietary control algorithms for precise regulation.
General & Service Information
How do we move around the equipment to different parts of the lab?
The instrument is designed to be ergonomic and has castor wheels for easy movement.
What are the delivery timelines?
Delivery is usually within 3 to 4 weeks after the order is placed.
Do you help in installation and aftersales?
Yes, they provide complete training and installation. After the warranty period, an AMC contract can be entered for calibration, preventive maintenance, and breakdown services.
